Putting Dementia on the TEDx stage (yes, that TED); and other big happenings at Rippl

Friends of Rippl,

As we move through 2025, I wanted to share a few quick updates on what we’ve been up to so far this year — from rapidly expanding high quality dementia care to NEW states, to adding new expertise to our team, to some exciting moments where the world is taking notice of what we’re building at Rippl.

We founded Rippl because we were fed up with how our healthcare system treats people living with dementia and their families. Seniors with dementia have been underserved and undervalued for way too long.  Care (if it exists) is confusing, fragmented, impersonal — and it leaves too many families navigating this cruel disease without the support they deserve.  We knew there had to be a better way.  And, we are proving there is.

Getting dementia care front-and-center

This spring, I was incredibly honored to be invited to bring the epidemic of dementia to the TEDx stage. It was a perfect place to share more about why stigma is a big reason dementia care is a problem today and offer some perspective on the dramatic statistics rapidly piling up around this disease.  Most importantly, I got to offer up some big, bold ideas on what we can do right NOW to solve this crisis of care.  Exactly what we’re doing at Rippl TODAY.

I hope you will take 18 minutes to watch the TED talk here:

And if you missed it, Rippl was also recently featured in Forbes:
The Rippl Effect: A New Approach to Dementia Care

This kind of spotlight matters—not because it’s about us, but because it helps shine a light on the critical need for better dementia care across the country.  Rippl is as much a movement as it is a company.

Growing to meet the need

We’re proud to be rapidly expanding our services.  We recently brought Rippl to families in both Florida and Oregon for the very first time.  As our footprint expands, we’re reaching more seniors and caregivers who’ve long been left behind. And we’re just getting started.

We’ve got big plans for the next several months and expect to open in California and others states over the coming months.

We’ve added several new regional and national partners that have allowed us to expand our reach through both value-based contracts with payors and payviders and through CMS’ new, innovative GUIDE program that is allowing us to serve seniors on traditional Medicare.

The demand for our services couldn’t be more urgent. We’re excited to take our unique care solution to many new places before the end of the year.

Welcome Bruce Broussard and Eric Van Horn

Over the last few months, we’ve recruited a couple of remarkable new leaders and advisors to join us on this important journey to improve dementia care.

Bruce Broussard led Humana, one of the largest insurers in the country, as CEO from 2013 to 2024.  He’s one of the smartest thinkers any where on advancing value-based care models and he has recently joined us formally as an value-based Advisor.

Eric Van Horn was a Co-Founder and President of Landmark Health, where he has distinguished himself as a national leader in pioneering innovative value-based care models.  Eric has joined us formally as an Executive Advisor for value-based contracting and is actively helping drive our growth with new partners.

We’re honored to have both of these big thinkers involved in helping our team advance our mission.

Why we’re here:
Our updated mission and values

As our team has grown and our impact has deepened, so has our clarity about who we are and why we exist. This year, we refreshed our mission and values to better reflect what drives us.

Mission: Rippl enables more good days for those living with dementia and their families.

Our values:

  • We’re fed up. Dementia care today isn’t working. We know it can be done better—and we know how to do it.

  • We’re changemakers. We’re pioneering a new care model that’s actually working. And we’ve got the outcomes to prove it.

  • We’re in a hurry. Dementia is the fastest-growing condition in the country. People need better care now—not later.

  • We start with yes. When things get hard, we collaborate, innovate, and figure it out.

  • We care for those who care for others. We obsess over supporting our care team, because that’s how patients and families get the care they deserve.

This isn’t just lip service. It’s how we operate every day. We had our values before we had our 1st patient.  We’re proud these values guide our decisions daily.

So, what’s next?

More partnerships. More states. More families getting the care they need. And a continued focus on one simple, powerful idea: enabling more good days.

As always, thanks for your support!  We can do this so much better.
